Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

The CDC provides teens with information to help develop an understanding of what relationship violence consists of as well as the risk factors, consequences, and preventative strategies to be aware of.  Additional resources and hotlines are made accessible for teens currently experiencing an unhealthy relationship.

 

Break the Cycle

This national organization is specifically designed to inform and empower youth by providing education and support regarding healthy relationships and dating abuse.

 

National Domestic Violence Hotline

The NDVH provides 24/7 confidential support services for victims of domestic violence along with additional resources and information regarding relationship abuse awareness and prevention.

 

That’s not Cool

This online tool provides information on and support for teens experiencing “digital dating abuse,” possible through social media, texting, email and other technological devices.

 

Love is Respect

This national organization works to inform youth in order to prevent dating abuse.  Love is Respect provides peer and adult advocates for teens as well as 24/7 confidential phone, chat, and text support services.

 

 

MASSACHUSETTS RESOURCES

REACH Beyond Domestic Violence

REACH provides support for domestic violence victims as well as information and resources on healthy relationships and abuse prevention.

 

YWCA Central Massachusetts, Worcester, MA

The YWCA offers support for youth and teens in a variety of forms including online chat, 24 hour hotline, counseling, and prevention education programs with the goal of promoting healthy relationships.

 

Jane Doe Inc. (JDI)

JDI is an advocacy organization working within communities to promote safe and healthy relationships while supporting the victims of domestic and sexual violence.  JDI provides a list of resources specifically for teens to build awareness and prevention.
